Resource Estimation with facilitated workshop

This 5-day course gives a clear understanding of resource estimation and the role of techniques such as geostatistics. The course covers each aspect of the resource estimation process, using presentations, practical exercises, activities and case studies. The last day of the course is a facilitated workshop in which real-life case studies and attendees' resource estimation problems are brainstormed and analysed. This facilitated workshop will expose you to a variety of resource estimation problems. It will teach you how to apply your course knowledge to define, analyse and action plan your resource estimation problems - it will help fast forward your knowledge in dealing with these problems.

Resource Estimation using Surpac

Practical Reconciliation

This one-day course reviews and investigates the calculation and interpretation of claimed grade control, resource and reserve numbers, and their relationship with plant figures.

Participants will learn to:

Interpret, validate and critically assess complex reconcilitation spreadsheets
Understand metallurgical balance sheets and extract key data for the reconciliation process
Build reconciliation systems from first principles
Understand the stakeholders in the reconciliation process and their differing requirments
Understand the differing inputs from open pit and underground operations
Reconcile resources, reseves, and grade control figures - when and why
Provide simple and clear information on reconciliation to clients
Appreciate the dangers in using spreadsheets and review some of the alternatives
Recognise key aspects of a best practice reconcilation system and how to achieve them
